Thor H. McIlrath is a Partner and co-founder of McIlrath | Eck, LLC, a partnership formed in 2006 with Sam K. Eck, JD. Thor has over 20 years of experience as a Financial Advisor. He began his career in 1992 before joining McIlrath | Eck as a Registered Representative practicing financial planning. While at Cambridge Investment Research, Thor received recognition as a Leading Financial Planner among his peers. In 2006 Thor formed his own company, McIlrath | Eck, LLC, an Independent Registered Investment Advisory firm.
Thor is a graduate of Metropolitan State College of Denver’s Financial Planner program (2002), and a Certified Financial Planner who has held his General Securities Principal License. He has achieved designations as a Registered Financial Consultant (RFC), and an Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF). Thor majored in finance and accounting while at Columbia College.
Thor and his wife, Heather, reside in Stanwood. He served four years in the United States Coast Guard and is now a general aviation pilot. Thor’s interests include general aviation, reading, trailing bike riding, and supporting orphans and young adults in Romania through Kids Town International, where he serves as a Board member.

Sam began his Law career in 1971, with an emphasis in all areas of legacy planning for the past 17 years. His knowledge and broad-base experience provide a realistic and practical understanding of legal, financial and estate tax related matters. Sam and his wife Mary Jo live in Issaquah, WA. Sam enjoys travel, spending time with his family, and the latest technology.

Brian began his financial career in 1999, has a B.S. in Accounting, and has worked with Thor McIlrath since 2002 as a Portfolio Manager. In 2006 he joined McIlrath | Eck, and in 2013 earned his CFP® (Certified Financial Planner). As our Portfolio Manager, Brian builds creative and effective portfolios to meet each client’s needs while incorporating their individual risk tolerance.

Troy began his career in 2008 after working his way through college at Western Washington University, where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Business Finance, while raising his two daughters. Troy also is a graduate of Metropolitan State College of Denver’s Financial Planner program (2012).
Troy and his daughters live in Stanwood where he enjoys golfing, hunting, sailing, traveling, and fishing. He also volunteers his time with community projects, as well as the collection of items from the area for the local food banks.Troy – CFP ®
Jake grew up in the Seattle area and then attended Saint Mary’s College of California where he got his Bachelor’s Degree in International Business. Immediately after college, Jake went to Akron, Ohio with his dog, Kujo, where he graduated from the University of Akron School of Law and received his Law Degree. He has since returned to the great Northwest.
Jake is a big Seattle sports fan. Whether it is the Seahawks, Sounders, Mariners or UW Athletics, he enjoys supporting his teams. He also prays the Sonics will return soon… An avid fan of the outdoors, Jake likes to spend his free time exploring the state’s wildlife and terrain by camping or just wandering. He also gives his time to organizations such as First Tee, Saint Matthew’s Parish, or coaching CYO soccer for middle schoolers in Magnolia.Jake – J.D
Gail serves as our Client Services Manager and Office Manager. Gail serves our clients with excellence and comprehensive knowledge of their unique circumstances. A Southern California native, Gail lives in Marysville with her husband Jim, who is a technology consultant.
Gail and Jim have three sons, Chris, Jeremy, and Jesse, and their daughter Esther. They also have seven grand children. The Martins have been involved in church ministry for many years, as Gail devotes her time to women’s ministry and occasionally speaks at workshops and retreats. Her husband assists with adult and various family ministries. From her experience in church ministry, Gail wrote a parenting book entitled, “What Every Child Should Know Along The Way,” which has been published and sold in many countries and translated into Portuguese.
Gail thoroughly enjoys being a wife, mother, and grandma. Among her favorite interests are entertaining at home, reading, writing, cooking, and taking long walks with Jim.Gail
Linda has over 20 years of experience in the financial industry. She currently holds her General Securities License (Series 7) and General Supervisory License (Series 8). She was an Operations Manager for Smith Barney in Wenatchee Washington from 1990 until 2009 when Morgan Stanley purchased Smith Barney and closed the Wenatchee Branch. In 2010 she joined a local bank in Wenatchee as a Client Service Manager for their Investment Department.
Linda graduated from Marysville High School and she then moved back to the Marysville area to be closer to her family.
Previously, Linda lived in Leavenworth Washington for over 20 years and she spent many of those years hiking in the Alpine Lakes Wilderness. She often enjoyed hiking through the Enchantments and surrounding areas. She relocated to Leavenworth for the following outdoor activities: rock climbing, cross-country skiing and hiking. Before moving East she spent eight years working on Mt Rainier.
Linda still enjoys the outdoors and among her favorite outdoor activities are walking, riding her bike and sitting on her deck reading a good book that is about climbing, hiking etc.!Linda
Karla Dickerson serves McIlrath & Eck as our Client Relations Administrator. Her background consists of service in banking, investment, and insurance, and spans more than 20 years.
With a career Navy husband, she also possesses the title of “Career Navy Wife”, and is the mother of 2 grown boys, and 4 grandchildren. Karla and her family established roots in Snohomish County in 1994, and have resided in Arlington since 2007.
Her hobbies include designing custom jewelry and wine glasses, traveling, and riding Harley Davidson motorcycles with her husband.Karla
Sonya brings with her over 20 years of administrative and customer service experience within the insurance and accounting industries. She began her career at a third party administrator of insurance products company where she was employed as an office assistant and worked her way up to be an Operations Business Analyst. From there, she moved on to a large public accounting firm serving as an executive and marketing assistant for the next eight years.
Sonya received her Bachelor’s of Art in Studio Art at California State University, Chico with an emphasis in painting, sculpture, ceramics, and art history. She also holds an Associate of Customer Service designation from the Life Office Management Association.

Stephanie has over 20 years of Accounting experience in the Health Care field and in Retail money management. She began her career in retail as a new store trainer in the early 90’s, traveling the U.S. to open new stores and train new staff. She has spent the last 18 years in Health Care working in
Accounts Receivable and Administrative Services.
Stephanie has lived in Marysville most of her life. Her family moved to Camas, WA during her high school years and then she returned to Marysville after graduating. She has enjoyed raising her two sons, along with her husband in the Marysville community.
Her passion is singing. She grew up singing in church. In high school, she was in many elite groups in the Northwest. Currently she sings in local country bands. She has sung the National Anthem for Evergreen Speedway, Everett Aqua Sox, and The Everett Naval Station.
